Scientific American

Although described as "the monthly journal of practical information", these Scientific American magazine covers from the 1920s were anything but practical. -What dramatic and exciting depictions of scientific adventure! No wonder generations of 20th Century American men chose scientific study as a past-time or career.

Perhaps he was using watercolors...
